U-19 category planned for CC7s

December 13, 2015 11:00 pm

Organizers of the Fiji Baileys Coral Coast 7s are keen to sign up secondary schools for the upcoming tournament next year.

Director, Jay Whyte says they are taking the competition to another level by introducing an Under-19 category to develop sevens rugby at secondary school division.

“We’ve got some few more exciting announcements to come up in terms of other partners and we’re also adding in the 2016 Uprising School 7s which is the Under 19 competition. Which will be very exciting as well and we welcome in Uprising and we appreciate and thank them for their support.”

Whyte also adds the overall competition will also be used to scout for new players to represent the national 7s team in the remaining legs of the World Sevens Series and this might be a good chance for the youngsters to prove their best.

The 2016 Fiji Baileys Coral Coast 7s will be held on the 14th to the 16th of January at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
