Ovalau’s quest to join the Skipper Cup rugby competition next year is on the right track.

This was after they recorded a 17-15 win against Macuata in the Vodafone Vanua Championship yesterday.

They defeated Northern Bulls last week and managed to see off home side Macuata in another exciting encounter yesterday.

Ovalau will now host Nanukuloa on Saturday and Coach Luke Vulo says they have to be consistent.

‘Firstly, like we have to work on our defense we were just waiting down there allowed the Macuata team to gain territory while they were on attack, we lose so many balls on the line out they contested it so will work on the line outs and our pods in attacking’.

Macuata, on the other hand, recorded their second loss in a week and their third for the season.

Coach Digitaki Levaci says giving away possession cost them the game.

Macuata will play neighbors Cakaudrove in their next match next Saturday.
