The Cricket Fiji team has two qualifying events to overcome if they are to reach the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

International Cricket Council tournament director Rob Gomm says with the ICC World Twenty20 East Asia Pacific Sub Re¬gional Qualifiers starting tomorrow, the council hopes the teams will come prepared for the tournament.

“This is the first step for the East Asia Pacific group and so the top two winners, the first and second from this tournament would go on to the regional final which will happen in the first quarter of 2019. They’ll be playing against the winner of the East Asia tournament which will happen in December.”

The qualifiers kicks off at 9.30 am tomorrow with Fiji facing Vanuatu, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
