Tuwai overcomes odds to make cut

February 28, 2016 12:02 am

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan says star forward Pio Tuwai has earned his way into the 14-member squad for the Las Vegas and Vancouver 7s.

Tuwai came through a bout of food poisoning and went through a torrid time as his house was partly damaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Ryan says he will monitor Tuwai’s form early next week and decide whether to field the towering forward in Las Vegas or hold him back until the Vancouver 7s the following weekend.
