Former Fiji 7s captain Jerry Tuwai has been recognized for being the first player on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit to win five consecutive Hong Kong Sevens titles.

Kombat Sportswear and Tanoa International Hotel organized a lunch celebration for the 30-year-old star player following their arrival from the Singapore 7s tournament.

Jerry Tuwai says that his remarkable career is credited to the team and the rugby fans.

“I would never ask for more but only ask for support and the love from our beloved country and to be appreciated and recognized to this extend we are so blessed and we are thankful that we have such people.”

Tuwai also says that he turned down overseas offers just to wear the white jersey.

He says it’s always an honor for him to represent Fiji.

Tuwai made his debut for Fiji in 2014 and was part of the team that was bundled out in the semifinals of the Hong Kong 7s.

The following year, Jerry played in every final of the Hong Kong 7s and created history.
