Team Fiji weightlifter, Manueli Tulo has lifted an impressive 240kg Total in the 55.93kg weight category at the International Weightlifting Federation World Championship in Houston, Texas, USA.

The event is one of the qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Fiji coach, Joe Vueti says Tulo has lifted well for his body weight and expects the Ovalau lad to continue to improve as he strives for qualification for Rio.

Tulo has improved his lift, since his gold medal win in the Pacific Games of 234kg, to 236kg in the Commonwealth Championships and now to 240kg in USA.

Female lifter, Apolonia Vaivai is also competing in the World Championships.
