Rugged winger Jona Tuitoga has forced his way into the Vodafone Fiji 7s extended squad to prepare for the Dubai and Port Elizabeth tournaments next month.
Coach Ben Ryan says Tuitoga had an outstanding tournament at the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s but will face a stern test in claiming a spot in the final 12-member squad.
“I watched Jonah play for Borneo club in the Singapore 7s. He played well as a rover/wing option. He’s at a major disadvantage compared to the rest of the local players that have been training with me so his fitness level is going to be tested over the next few days. I’ll see how he goes and if they’re upto the required level than we’ll consider him and if he’s not than he’ll have to work hard”
Ryan will name his final 12-member squad next Saturday to take to the Dubai and Port Elizabeth 7s tournaments.
