18-year-old Sailosi Tubailagi will represent Fiji at the 2017 World Athletics Championships in London next month.

Athletics Fiji is banking on the Year-twelve student from Ratu Kadavulevu School will carry Fiji’s banner on the world stage.

President, Joe Rodan says Tubailagi had the fastest time in the 400metres for the Senior Boys at this year’s Coca-Cola Games.

“He’s the athlete that is been around for sometimes and we believe he is capable of coming down to 45 seconds or even 44 seconds in the 400 metres.”

Tubailagi ran the time of 48.3 seconds in this year’s Coke Games Senior Boys 400 metres finals.

The World Athletics Championships run from the 5th to the 19th of next month.
