The Trinity Newtown rugby side is determined to win the Westfield 7s tournament in Nadi this weekend and qualify for the 2016 Bayleys Coral Coast 7s.
The team is based in Newtown, Nasinu, an area renowned for criminal activities.
Trinity Newtown captain, Malakai Tobau says the side will be banking on the achievements of one of its stars, Vodafone Fiji 7s rep, Jerry Tuwai to motivate the team in the tournament.
“It means a lot as a team because of our background. One has made it and now most of the boys are ready for national duty and make the nation proud.”
The Westfield 7s will held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Saturday.
The winner will walk away with $5000 and automatic entry into the Bayley Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka next month.
