Tovolea caused a major overhaul at the Coral Great Eight sevens tournament after defeating Tabadamu 19-14 in the final.
The Nadroga side, which has the serves of provincial reps Ratunaisa Narukutabua and Samu Laqai raced to an early 12-0 lead at halftime.
Tadadamu, which included national reps Setefano Cakau and Sitiveni Waqa hit back after the breather with two converter tries.
Tovolea sealed the victory with a try to Alifereti Raka.
Tovolea had earlier caused a stir after ousting defending champions Wardens Gold with a 17-12 win in the semi-final.
Tabadamu defeated Vatemo Ravouvou’s Tokatoka Westfield Dragons 26-7 in the second semifinal.
Meanwhile the teams that reached the quarterfinal stages have automatically qualified for the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s whichi will be held on November 13th-15th at the same venue.
