The Fiji National Rugby League has been impressed by the level of competition in the Top 8 competition this year.

Vodafone Fiji Bati assistant coach Joe Rabele says each team has shown tremendous improvement in performance since the new tournament format was introduced last year.

“To see how it has progressed from last year to this year, it has really improved. All the teams in the Top 8 have prepared really well. Saru Dragons is the top team in the first round, they have won four out their past five games.”

Saru Dragons, Makoi Bulldogs and Sabeto Roosters are tied with 8 points each at the top of the points table, but the Dragons edge ahead with a better point’s differential.

Meanwhile, the Top 8 games will be held tomorrow at Garvey Park in Tavua.
