Only teams that have yet to qualify for the 2016 Bayleys Coral Coast 7s in Sigatoka will compete in the Westfield Dragons 7s tournament in Nadi next month.

The Westfield tournament is a qualifying leg for the Coral Coast 7s and tournament director, Ratu Ponijese Rayasi says it will be a good opportunity to witness some new teams in action.

“We won’t be excepting teams that have already qualified for example teams like Police, Tabadamu, Uluinakau, Yamacia and the Wardens Gold. So the Westfield Management Executives have made criteria.”

24 teams will compete in the Westfield Dragons Mini 7s tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Christmas Day.

The winner will automatically qualify for the Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in January next year.
