Tony Lemeki records fastest time for Team Fiji sprinters

Tony Lemeki recorded the fastest time for Team Fiji sprinters after the 100 meters Heats yesterday.

Lemeki clocked a time of 10.82 seconds which is faster than Banuve Tabakaucoro and Albert Miller Junior’s times.

Tabakaucoro ran a time of 10.87 seconds while Albert Miller finished his heat in 11.25 seconds.

Tony Lemeki’s time is also faster than the Gold medal favorite, Jeremy Dodson of Samoa who came first in his heat with a time of 10.90 seconds.

All the three Fijian athletes will feature in the semifinals later this afternoon.

Samoa’s Kevin Tuiala Masoe is the fastest man after the heats recording a time of 10.70 seconds.

But former Pacific Games Blue Ribbon champion Jone Delai says it’s going to be a Tabakaucoro and Dodson showdown.

Delai is confident the Bau bullet will rise to the occasion today.

Meanwhile, Malakai Kaiwalu and Waisea Jikoiono will be in action for Team Fiji in High Jump this morning while Marist Brothers High School student and 2019 Coca Cola Games Intermediate Boys silver medalist Kaitu Kaitu will be jumping for Tuvalu.

The Fiji Men’s and Women’s Basketball sides will feature in the semifinals today. Our Men meet Tahiti at 2pm and Women play Guam at 4pm.

Para Athletics will have their javelin and 100 meters events today.

Judo starts today as well as Boxing and Taekwondo while Sailing, Shooting and Touch Rugby continues their competition as well.
