Time a hindrance for Fiji footballers

April 10, 2012 1:01 am

Fiji football assistant coach, Imdad Ali says lack of time will be a hindrance in preparing for the Oceania Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands next month.

The 31-member national training squad has been announced and Ali says he and national coaching director, Carlos Buzzetti are pleased with their selection.

“Time is very limited we will be preparing a team in one or two months time and getting them prepared in this timeframe is a struggle especially to build a winning combination. Apart from that we will be losing our players to their districts as their coaches will want them to play for the league games. So keeping them in camp for one or two months is going to be difficult but we will ensure we can get them to play the football that we want them to play.”
