Three teams book place in NCC finals

Last year’s finalist, Namaka FC, Ba’s 4R Electric and Lautoka’s City United FC have qualified for the finals of the Rooster Chicken National Club Championships next weekend.

In the playoff matches played at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park yesterday, 4R Electric defeated FC Ghandi Lionz 3-nil, and drew with Nailaga of Ba nil-all.

Namaka FC defeated Press Soccer Club 2-1 and was held to a 1-all draw by FC City United.

City United qualified as the best runner up.

The five southern qualifiers will only be known after the completion of matches at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park today.

In yesterday’s matches, Rewa rep Tevita Waranivalu scored the lone goal to help his Nakasi Lions beat Chelsea FC 1-nil. In other matches Lokia United beat Friends United 2-nil, Koromakawa and Tai United played to a 1-all draw, Lokia FC and Raralevu Central FC were locked at 1-all while Suva’s Bureta FC defeated Navua’s Waidova FC 2-nil.

Matches begin at 9am today.

Meanwhile, the finals will be played at Ba’s Govind Park next weekend.
