There's a lot of tension in preparing the team: Baber

Fiji Airways men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber says there’s been a lot of pressure in preparing the team and expectations for the 2018 Rugby 7s World Cup from fans at home and abroad are high.

Baber who will lead the team to a World Cup for the first time says after missing out on the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medal and the World 7s series title, people are expecting a positive outcome this time.

“I’ve said it many times there’s a lot of pressure for me in this job everyday so the world cup will no difference of course we felt after coming out of the commonwealth Games and every HSBC tournaments we played.”

The team leaves tomorrow for a two-week preparation camp in the U-S state of Utah before the start of their World Cup campaign.

Baber will name his final 12 on the 18th of this month and the World Cup will be held from the 21st to the 23rd in San Francisco.
