Goerges to meet Andreescu in ASB Classic Women’s Singles final

The ASB Classic women’s singles tennis final will see defending champions German second seed Julia Goerges taking on Canadian sensation Bianca Andreescu in Auckland today.

Both the finalists were the winners of the respective semifinals last night.

Goerges beat the world No 50, Slovakian Viktoria Kuzmova, 6-1 7-6 (6) before Andreescu beat Hsieh Su-Wei of Taiwan 6-3 6-3.

Andreescu has now played seven matches to just four for Goerges to reach the final.

The women’s singles final will be held at 7.30 tonight while the men’s singles qualifiers start at 11 this morning.

Meanwhile, round 16 of the men’s double will be held tomorrow while the women’s doubles final will be held at 5 this afternoon.
