Teams ready to battle

The 2015 Fiji Airways Champions League gets underway today with 12 of the best football clubs from the Oceania region starting battle.

Fijians clubs Vodafone Suva and Vodafone Ba will be out to impress in front of their home fans and try and nick a place in the FIFA World Club Cup to be held later in the year.

While Ba has had the experience of playing in the competition, it will be Suva’s baptism of fire, as the Whites are making their debut in the competition.

Suva is up against reigning champions Auckland City in the first match and all odds are stacked against the Whites.

Ba plays Gaitcha, a match, which the Men in Black will start as favorites in.

The biggest draw card today should be the battle between Amicale of Vanuatu and Solomon Islands club, Western United.

Meanwhile, the competition gets underway in Suva at 4.30pm, where the co-hosts take on Auckland City at 4.30pm, while at 7pm, Amicale plays Solomon Islands Western United.

In Ba, AS Pirae meets Lupe Ole Soaga at 4.30pm and Vodafone Ba clashes with Gaitcha at 7pm.

You can catch the live commentary of the Suva-Auckland City from 4.30pm, while the Ba-Gaitcha with voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart will air from 7pm.

Both games will be on Radio Fiji 2.
