Team Wellington brings in six new players

Team Wellington has named a powerful side for the Fiji Airways OFC Champions League football competition, which starts on Saturday in Suva and Ba.

The side has signed six new players for the championships, which includes Wellington Phoenix fullback Justin Gulley and Waitakere United trio Jake Butler, Chris Bale and Alex Carr and Hawkes Bay United striker Sean Lovemore.

The side also has Solomon Islander, Henry Fa’arodo, Cole Peverley and former All White, Ian Hogg.

Team Wellington will face AS Tefana (Tahiti), Hekari United (Papua New Guinea) and Tafea FC (Vanuatu).

The side takes on Tefana at 7pm on Sunday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Meanwhile, the competition gets underway on Saturday in the capital, where Suva takes on Auckland City at 4.30pm, while at 7pm, Amicale from Vanuatu plays Solomon Islands club, Western United.

In Ba on the same day, AS Pirae meets Lupe Ole Soaga at 4.30 and Ba clashes with Gaitcha at 7pm.

You can catch the live commentary of the Suva-Auckland City from 4.30pm, while the Ba-Gaitcha with voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart will air from 7pm.

Both games will be on Radio Fiji 2.
