Team Fiji Weightlifting has continued with their good performance at the Commonwealth Youth games in Samoa.

Maria Mareta took out the silver medal in the 58kg weight category today.

Maria managed a lift of 70kg in the Clean and Jerk and 57 kg in the Snatch with a total of 127kg lifted.

Gold was won by Malaysia’s Nur Atikah Mahamad Sobri and Bronze by Australia’s Yasmin Carter.

Ulina Sagone had secured first gold for Fiji in the girl’s 56kg division yesterday.
The games continue in Samoa with the men’s and women’s 7’s sides in action from tomorrow.
