Teachers learn tennis basics

More than 20 school teachers got a chance to learn the basics of tennis for free at the Nadi Sports Club today.

Hosted by Tennis Australia, the workshop is aimed at developing the sport in the country.

Coordinator, Bruce Osbourne says the turnout from the participants has been overwhelming and they are keen to organize more session this year.

“First time for us over here and we are hoping to come back next month and continue the program and we are hoping that Tennis Australia along with the Fiji Government and Fiji Sports Commission and we’ll develop a project which will be bigger so we’ll get to more schools and to more teachers.”

Tennis Australia also donated free sporting equipment to the Nadi Sports Club at the end of the workshop today.
