Fiji Airways Flying Fijians prop Kalivati Tawake is expected to make his debut for Waratahs in the Super Rugby competition this weekend.

Tawake has joined Taqele Naiyaravoro’s Waratahs for this season and has been included in the match day 23 member squad for Saturday’s clash against the Sharks.

Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive, John O’Connor says Tawake joined the Waratahs after the Brisbane Tens earlier this month and he also did not featured for the Fiji Warriors side against Reds in a pre-season match.

Meanwhile, Waratahs captain Michael Hooper says he was happy with his sides performance after their 34-27 win over the Stormers over the weekend.

“I think it was a good game as both teams kept on trailing each other, especially when we were a man down, we had a couple of new players who kept the pressure on but now we are focused into our next match.”

The Waratahs will take on the Sharks on Saturday in the third round of the competition.
