Tavua soccer in the red

September 4, 2012 5:00 am

Tavua soccer is in serious trouble with zero dollars in the bank and fans having to donate travel and meal money.

Newly appointed president, Sailesh Kumar says Fiji Football intervened last week to dissolve the body.

He says the problem arose after eleven players were transferred to other districts without the officials’ knowledge.

“We had to ask fans for donation the last time we travelled to Nadi and basically we dont know which way we are heading to. The bank balance is now zero.”

There is also concern that Tavua will not be able to field a full team as most players are still in high school and may opt to play for their school which is also in the IDC.
