Taveuni returns to Chow Games after four years

Taveuni is returning to the Chow Games, four years after they last competed in 2015.

Taveuni team manager Viliame Serukabakoro says they are back this year to redeem themselves and compete in the biggest primary schools athletics meet.

Serukabakoro adds that winning medals for the people back in Taveuni is their goal.

“We have prepared well and we know that the national meet is not that easy but we are coming with the hope of getting some medals back to the island when we return.”

The team is currently billeting at John Wesley Primary School in Raiwaqa.

72 athletes from 12 different schools around Taveuni including Qamea are part of the current team.

The 2019 Chow Games begin Friday with the finals to be held Saturday at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
