Taumoepeau sets sights on heavyweight title

Tongan fighter, Napolean Taumoepeau is determined to snatch the Fiji Heavyweight title when he takes on defending champion, Petero Qica, tomorrow.

This is the first time the two fighters will face each other.

Weighing in at 109kg, Taumoepeau is keen to take on Petero Qica in the much-anticipated bout.

“I’ve been preparing for this fight for more than eight weeks now. I’ve never stopped training since my last fight, which was about two months ago.”

The weigh-in four all nine bouts was held in Lautoka today with another to be held tomorrow morning for Krishna Mudaliar and Irfan Khan, after there was a big weight difference between the two fighters.

The Wild West Boxing program will start at 5:30pm tomorrow at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
