Tasman walloped Southland 45-24 at Lansdowne Park in Blenheim yesterday in the Mitre 10 Cup competition.

It was a high scoring affair with a total of 10 tries scored during the match.

Tasman ran in 6 tries with fullback Will Jordan scoring a double.

Southland had started the game well scoring the opening try in the 12th minute to No.8 Tony Lamborn, but failed to maintain this momentum throughout the game.

In the other game played yesterday Auckland beat Northland 28-12 at the Toll Stadium in Whangarei.
