Fiji football skipper, Simione Tamanisau says over the next 24 hours, his challenge is to psyche his players up ahead of their Oceania Nations Cup clash against New Zealand.
“Morale is high in the team and everybody is looking forward to playing tomorrow and giving their best. For me it’s about psyching the players and to. pick up from whatever result we get in the first game. We will take each game as it comes.”
Doubts whether Tamanisau’s wrist injury is still a worry have been cleared by medical staff.
“I have recovered from it and while we were unfortunate to lose Malakai Tiwa and come tomorrow game we will give our best for him as well.”
Fiji meets the All Whites at 1pm on Saturday at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
Meanwhile, today’s Oceania Nations Cup games saw Tahiti thump Samoa, 10-1 while New Caledonia leads Vanuatu 4-2.
