Five local Table Tennis reps will be trying to book their places at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics during their Australian tour.

The players left for Melbourne today to take part in the Olympics preparation tour.

The five are Carolyn Li, sisters Grace and Sally Yee, Vicky Wu and Jai Chauhan.

Fiji Table Tennis Association President, Narendra Lal says the five players left our shores with high hopes.

“We asked them to do their best because we will be playing against some very good teams, Australia and New Zealand. So hopefully our chances are high in there.”

Lal says the players have also prepared well for the tour.

“They have been preparing well for this qualification hopefully they will be up to par in the games.”

The Olympic preparation tournament in Australia starts on Saturday.
