Table tennis reps to participate in Oceania Championship

Despite not going to Japan for a training session, our five national table tennis players will use the Oceania Championship in Australia as a testing ground as they prepare for the Commonwealth Games in April.

Fiji Table Tennis President Anthony Ho says the players were supposed to fly to Japan this week but there was a misunderstanding on their airfares.

Ho says they will now focus on the Championship next month to put their practice into action.

_"Due to some circumstances behind our control, we couldn’t go to Japan. However, we’re now focused on our training and going to the Oceania Championship which is to be held at the Commonwealth Games venue from the 15th to the 20th of March.”

Meanwhile, five table tennis players will represent Fiji in the Commonwealth Games in April.

These are Vicky Wu, Philip Wing, Sally Yee, Grace Yee and Xuan Li.

The Games runs through the 4th to the 15th of April in Gold Coast, Australia.
