Tabakaucoro needs to qualify on merit

Fiji Athletics, Albert Miller says if Banuve Tabakaucoro does not hit the qualifying time in the men’s 100 meters he will not participate in Rio next month.

The Pacific Sprint King clocked a time of 10.60 seconds in the 100 meters heat last night.

The 22 year old will need to clock 10.16 seconds to automatically qualify for the Olympic Games in Brazil next month.

Tabakaucoro will take on the track in the men’s 100 metres final at 7.30 tonight.

Meanwhile, Fiji’s Javelin thrower, Leslie Copeland will be participating in the men’s Javelin Senior tomorrow.

The Melanesian Games will end tomorrow.
