Tabakaucoro has one last chance

Pacific sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro clocked 10.56 seconds in the senior men’s semi-final in the Melanesia games at ANZ Stadium.

Tabakaucoro is the favourite to win gold in the event after qualifying with the fastest time from the semis.

The 22 year old will need to clock 10.16 seconds to automatically qualify for the Olympic Games in Brazil next month.

The final of the Senior Mens100 meters will be held at 7.30pm tonight.

Meanwhile, Australia is currently leading on the medal tally with 18 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze.

Fiji is second with 6 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze while Papua New Guinea is third with 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.
