Tabakaucoro clocks 10.6Os in 100m heats

South Pacific Sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 10.60 seconds in the 100 meters heat in the Melanesian Games at ANZ Stadium.

Banuve needs to clock 10.16 seconds to automatically qualify for the Olympic Games in Brazil.

In the women’s division, Fiji’s Makereta Naulu came first in her heat clocking a time of 11.90 seconds, Younis Bese was second with a time of 12.21 seconds and Sisilia Servula came fourth in her heat clocking 12.27 seconds.

Papua New Guinea’s Toea Wisil had the fastest time of 11.74 seconds.

Meanwhile, the finals will be held tomorrow.
