SVC happy with basketball outing

Swami Vivekananda College is satisfied with its performance in the Tuckers Ice Cream Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championships underway at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

The school is competing in the competition for the first time and is fielding teams in the boys and girls categories in the Under-15, 17 and 19 grades.

SVC boys’ Under-15 captain, William Osborne says the players have enjoyed the exposure and will return a better side next year.

Today is the last day of the competition with the semi-finals now underway.
In the girls Under-19 grade, Latter Day Saints beat Adi Cakobau School 28-13, Suva Grammar School defeated SVC 13-6, and in U17, Saint Joseph Secondary beat Jai Narayan College 19-11.

In the boys Under-17 grade, Suva Grammar defeated Marist Brothers 19-12 and Natabua beat QVS 26-16.

The Under-15 finals will be held at 4pm with the Under-19 grade finals to begin at 5:30pm.
