Suva secures semifinal spot

The Suva football side has qualified to the Courts IDC semifinals after beating Tavua 2-0 this afternoon at ANZ Stadium.

Napolioni Qasevakatini scored Suva’s opening goal to put them 1-0 lead at half time.

Shahil Dave then scored from the penalty spot to seal the match.

Coach Gurjit Singh says the players will have a good rest tomorrow and at the same time they will map out a plan for their semi-final showdown.

“We lost our first game and we managed to win our last two matches and qualifies to the semis. So far its been good and we know it was a tough game but we came out victorious.”

Suva finished its pool games with six points. The side defeated Rewa 2-1 last night.

Meanwhile, Nadi plays Rewa at 3pm and Ba meets Labasa at 5pm.
