Suva Rugby Union marks Escott Shield's 105th year

August 23, 2018 5:02 pm

Suva Rugby Union is commemorating the 105th year of Fiji’s longest running rugby competition – the Escott Shield. This year will also mark 10 years of the Koroturaga Cup.

The draws have been finalized and the top eight teams of both grades will go head to head in the quarterfinal rounds this Saturday.
Last year’s Escort Shield runner-up, Navy, will be looking for revenge as they take on the Regent Breakthrough.

Navy Assistant captain Isikeli Vuruna says the team is eager to take home the title this year.

“This year we really want to win the escort shield back the last time we won the escort shield was in 20015 if I’m correct and this year we’re really preparing well and we really want the escort shield back.”
