Suva marathon hopes for positive turnout

The 2018 Island Chill Suva Marathon club is aiming at registering two thousand runners at this year’s event.

Last year’s event saw more than 1,300 runners from all walks of life and this year they’re trying to make the event bigger and better.

Suva Marathon Club Secretary Marita Manley says, the number of runners has grown from two hundred and fifty in 2014 to over one thousand three hundred last year.

“So whether you training to represent Fiji in the Commonwealth Games or whether you haven’t run before please do come down and join us because we really a kind group of people and what’s really great to see over the past four years of the club is all those club members motivated each other to get to the next goal.”

The Suva Marathon will be held on the 21st of July.
