Suva Football appoints new coach

Sam Lal has been appointed the new coach for the Suva Football side.

The former Lautoka and Rakiraki mentor takes over from Nathan Shivam who has stepped down from his position citing personal reasons.

Lal says he is looking forward to his new role which will end after the Courts Inter District Championship in October.

“I’m here for two week and then Il come back on the 1st of September and will fully take in charge of the team until the Inter District Championship. This weekend is a big one for me as we have two away home matches and I hope to get a win against Labasa and let Suva go mile from there.”

Suva takes on Labasa at 1.30pm, Saturday at Subrail Park after which Dreketi plays Rewa at 3pm.

At the same venue on Sunday, Dreketi faces Suva at 1.30pm while Labasa meets Rewa at 3pm.

Lautoka also takes on Rakiraki at 3pm at Churchill Park on Sunday.

In another match on Saturday, Ba hosts Nadi at 3pm at Govind Park and you can catch a live commentary of the match on Radio Fiji Two, with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
