The Suva soccer side marched through the city streets yesterday to celebrate its victory at the Courts Inter District Championship.

Veteran Pita Rabo paid tribute to the fans that stood by the team since the opening game.

“I would just like to thank the fans for coming out in numbers and enjoying this special occasion. It’s been 31 years since Suva won this trophy. But the response of the crowd since the start of the IDC has been great and I take my hat off to the fans.”

A cocktail dinner was held last night at Albert Park where players were given $900 each as well as mobile phones and shopping vouchers.

Suva defeated Nadi 1-0 in the final of the Courts IDC.
