Super lightweight title fight cancelled

January 20, 2018 3:39 am

The WBF Super Lightweight Boxing program between Fiji’s Sebastian Singh and Australian boxer Brent Dame has been cancelled.

The event has been cancelled because Singh has been postponing the competition saying that he is unwell whereas Dame claims this is all a lie.

Justin Kennedy who was due to be the supervisor from the World Boxing Foundation for the title fight next month is not happy with the attitude of team Sebastian.

He says it is unprofessional of them to use dengue fever as an excuse to defer the fight.

”Gavan Turner the Trainer/Manager of Aussie opponent Brent Dames then receives a message from Singh’s Manager Aman Singh that the Promoter wants a non-title fight and at an agreed weight of 65kg’s which is above the 63.5kgs required for the Title, so is the real reason he is sick or can’t make weight, after all the extensions we gave they go behind our back and do this, very very dishonest and disrespectful.”

However, Sebestian Singh on the other hand says these are false accusations against him from team Dame’s.

“Brent Dames if he still wants to do it he still has February 16 to take the fight and come get a hiding, Im just a fighter the management does all the paperwork for me so I was sick and I cant do much about it.”

Sebastian Singh also opposed the comment made by team Dames saying the title has not been stripped off him but his team has decided to vacate the championship belt.
