Stiff competition is expected in this year’s Fiji Secondary School Hockey Super Eight National Finals.

The tournament faced a few challenges last year with the unfavorable weather and ground conditions.

Secondary Schools Hockey President Immanuel Prasad says bringing the games to the National Hockey Centre in Suva should improve the standard of the competition.

“Last year it was rather unfortunate because we had a lot of rain which was held at Nasau Park in Ovalau but this year we are playing on the turf and playing on the turf it is quite fast so I’m expecting quite a fast game and a lot of competition especially amongst the Suva and Lautoka.”

The competition will be held from next Monday to Wednesday.
