Standards raised for Hockey competition

Fiji Secondary School Hockey Association President Immanuel Prasad says with the boost in prizes from their sponsors -Tuckers this year, the association has taken it upon themselves to also raise the standard of competition.

Prasad says the tournament has fully qualified umpires for the three day tournament.

“We’re having our tournaments following very closely with the international hockey federation rules. Our tournament is following very closely with the international hockey federation rules and having umpires that are fully qualified level one umpires.”

Every winning team will receive $200 prize money while the runners up receive $100 in their various categories.

The competition continues until tomorrow and all games will be held at the National Hockey Centre.
