The Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawalu says local rugby competitions has improved last year compared to the past three years.
Matawalu says, Nadroga sets a standard for Fiji rugby and if they lose, it means rugby in the country is growing.
“For us we always see ourselves as a benchmark to provincial rugby competitions and it has been a while since a team has wrestled a trophy from us which also shows the progress and the growth of the team vying for the trophy has improved.”
Meanwhile, Nadroga have retained Fiji rugby’s premier trophy the Farebrother- Sullivan Cup more than 81 times. It held the Cup for a record of 9 years in-a-row from 1971 to 1979
The team have started off with their preparation towards the 2018 skipper cup which kicks-off in April.
