Stage set for BOG

The stage is set for the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants to kick off at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.

Defending champions Rewa hopes to win its first match against Suva despite missing striker Setareki Hughes, defender Amani Makoe and goalkeeper Manasa Waqavou.

Nadi will hope to come strong against a young Dreketi side which has been in form after the Fiji FACT tournament last month, while the Lautoka and Tavua match is expected to be an entertaining game. In the feature match, Labasa plays Ba tonight.

Meanwhile, Fiji Football Association Chief Executive, Mohammed Yusuf says referees who are always pointed out for mistakes have prepared well for the tournament.

“We have worked on the referee’s panel we have brought in elite referees from around the country to be part of the panel. This is an area we will be very strictly monitoring referees so that they perform well and the matches are completed in a sports man’s way.”

The tournament kicks off today at 1.30pm at Churchill Park with Suva playing Rewa in the first match, Nadi plays Dreketi at 3.30pm, at 6pm Lautoka faces Tavua and in the feature match at 8pm, Ba meets Labasa.
