The Ministry of Youth and Sports has been allocated $24.1 million for the new financial year 2018/2019.

It has increase of $1 million from the last budget.

The government has allocated more than $15 million for review of the sports policy, sports education, hosting of international tournaments, the 2018 Oceania 7s tournament, sports scholarship and the construction of rural sports fields and complexes.

Fiji National Sports Commission has been given $1 million for looking after the needs of all the sporting federations and its tournaments.

The government has also allocated around $4 million for hosting of international tournaments and around $3 million for sports outreach program.
