The Fiji Sports Council is ready to host a feast of sports events this weekend.
Majority of the Sports council’s venues have been booked for various events this long weekend which includes the Phoenix match at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Fiji National Sports Commission Chair Peter Mazey says they are ready for the long weekend.
“We have got the Marist Volleyball tournament which I think has nearly 50 teams in that this year and it is one the biggest tournaments this year in the country. That’s going on at the FMF Gymnasium. At our other facilities we have Netball at the Netball Centre and Primary School competition going on at the Multi Purpose Courts. He also have at Lawaqa Park a huge youth carnival going on.”
Meanwhile, the National Sports day will be held on Friday to commemorate sports in the country.
