Sports council assessing damage

Fiji Sports Council is currently assessing the damage done do its sporting facilities nationwide.

Council chair Peter Maizey confirms that the under renovation National Stadium did not sustain any damage.

He says they had the facility well secured when the warning for Cyclone Evan was sounded.

Maizey says they are currently in a meeting to discuss repair works on the facilities in the Western Division.

He adds a full report on the damages will be discussed today and after which necessary decisions will be made.

Meanwhile Fiji Football says they will bear the cost of the damages done to Govind Park.

Lautoka City Council is also working on Churchill Park.
