Representatives of local sporting organizations attended the annual sports conference in Suva today.

Fiji National Sports Commission chairman, Peter Mazey says it was a great opportunity to discuss ways to develop local talent as well as address issues concerning their respective sports.

“It’s a time when the NSOs can get across to the Fiji Sports Commission what their challenges and problems are and then we can address them. It’s also a time when the commission gets to talk about the grants from the past year and the following and the requirements for sporting bodies now.”

Also on the agenda were sports development plans, including the establishment of a sports academy and multipurpose facilities around the country.
