The Fiji National Sports Commission has set aside $1.4 million preparation grant for the Flying Fijians ahead of the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year.

Sports Commission chairperson Peter Mazey handed $300,000 as the first portion of the grant to the Fiji Rugby Union today.

Mazey says with the help of the government they will continue to support the national team in future.

“This is an important round of funding as it is part of an overall grant that the commission has put aside on the request of Fiji Rugby Union.”

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians faces Scotland, Uruguay and France in the three test matches next month.
