The national sporting fraternity is mourning the loss of prominent sports administrator, Paul Yee, who passed away over the weekend.

Yee had been involved with athletics for the past 40 years and held the post of FASANOC vice-president from 2013 to 2014.

His last international outing was as a technical official manager for athletics during the recent Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

FASANOC President Joe Rodan says Yee will be sorely missed by the athletics and sporting community at large.

“Paul is really one of the cornerstone of athletics; not only Paul, his family they all represented Fiji in the Pacific Games. Paul’s passing has really taken us by surprise. He is a person who works silently and has devoted a lot of time and effort to the development of athletics.”

Yee was 69 at the time of his passing and was to have celebrated his 70th birthday this month.
