Athletes of the Special Olympics Team Fiji have proven that they are no different compared to the other national teams of the country.
These were the words of the Head of Delegation, Bishwa Sidal at the welcoming ceremony for the squad from the World Games today.
He adds the athletes deserved to be recognized for their effort.
“The first week was very exciting and came to the second week of the finals that’s where we really needed to focus, that’s where most of us were feeling homesick. I think my two colleagues did very well, I think their experience as teachers really helped.”
Minister of Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou was also present to welcome the athletes back in the country.
Fiji recorded a spectacular performance at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles, USA, collecting three gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
